Neotropical frogs

Neotropical frogs (Family Leptodactylidae)

This family of frogs includes about 1000 species of new world frogs. This family is so diverse that there are few distinguishing characteristics, and many species find themselves in this group if they can’t be classified into the other groups. In Panama, there are treefrog-like, toad-like and froglike members of this eclectic family and it has recently been revised.
